Coming from 1.2
If you're upgrading from Ulysses 1.2, you'll probably want to know what has changed, what's new, and which element has gone where.
We have tried to make the upgrade from 1.2 to the current installment as easy as possible. The standard settings should make you feel right at home. In fact, pretty much everything works as before, with exception to the preferences.
- Where are the tiny buttons?
- The tiny buttons have been removed without substitution.
- What does the button next to the Filter Field do?
- The button next to Filter Field is the Filter Button. If you click on it, it will show the Filter View, which hold Filters and Collections. Read more about Filters and Collections here.
- What does the small button in the Preview Pane do?
- The small button in the Preview Pane toggles between Document Notes, Document Excerpt and Project Notes.
- What does the button in the top right corner of the Editor do?
- The button in the top right corner of the Editor toggles the Split-View for the Editor.
- Where did the Split-View for the Editor go?
- The Split-View for the Editor is still there, but it has to be shown explicitly.
To show the Split-View, click on the grey square button on the top right of the Editor.
To hide the Split-View, click that button again.
- The Split-View for the Editor is still there, but it has to be shown explicitly.
- What happened to Fullscreen Mode?
- Fullscreen Mode has been renamed to Console Mode in order to better reflect what the Mode resembles. It was originally created to recapture that pure essence of terminal consoles of old; a black screen with amber text, you, a keyboard and your thoughts.
