Change the caption duration
By default, captions are divided into four second segments and span the entire duration of the audio clip. The caption track appears on the timeline.
Change the duration:
The caption duration must be between two and seven seconds to be ADA compliant.
Click to select a caption segment. The caption editor appears.
Drag the Duration slider in the Caption Editor. The duration (in seconds) for the selected caption segment appears under the slider.
Split captions:
Splitting captions divides the caption into two equal parts. The existing caption text is repeated in both segments.
Click to select a caption segment. The caption editor appears.
Control-click the caption segment and select Split Caption or click the Caption Options dropdown in the caption editor and select Split Current Caption.
Merge captions:
Merging captions combines two captions into one. The existing caption text is also combined.
Click to select a caption segment. The caption editor appears.
Control-click the caption segment and select Merge with next Caption or click the Caption Options dropdown in the caption editor and select Merge with next Caption.
