Record the screen
Camtasia records the entire screen. You can select to show only a portion of the recording during editing, see Show a region of the video.
Record the screen
Open Camtasia.
Audio is recorded by default. Click the down arrow to select the microphone.
To enable system audio recording, click the System Audio button. See Record system audio.
To enable camera recording, click the Camera button. The camera video appears as a Picture-in-Picture (PIP) clip and can be moved or resized independently from the screen video.
A preview of the web camera appears. Click the down arrow to select the camera recording device.
Click the Record button or press Command-Shift-2. A recording countdown appears.
To stop recording, click the recording icon in the menu bar and select Stop Recording or press Command-Shift-2.
Camtasia adds the Camtasia recording file (.cmrec) into the Media Bin and onto the timeline. To create another recording, click the New Recording button in the Media Bin.
