Export a MPEG-4 with the ExpressShow Flash Wrapper

Export a MPEG-4 to embed in a website or blog. The Flash wrapper controls the appearance of the playback controls, start screen, and end screen for the video. You may want to switch to the ExpressShow Flash wrapper to use a consistent Flash wrapper for videos created in Camtasia Studio for Windows and Camtasia for the Mac.

Change the Flash Wrapper to ExpressShow with Property List Editor:

Choose user directory > Library > Preferences. Double click com.techsmith.camtasia.plist.

Click within the .plist and click the Add Item button.

In the Key column, enter "expressShow". In the Type column, select "Boolean". In the Value column, select the checkbox. Select File > Save.

In Camtasia, select Share > Export.

Select "Generate HTML to embed video content on a web page" option to include playback controls for embedding onto a website or blog.

Enter a file name and click Save.


Change the Flash Wrapper to ExpressShow with Terminal:

Open Terminal.

To change the Flash Wrapper to ExpressShow, enter "defaults write com.techsmith.camtasia expressShow -bool YES" and press Return.

In Camtasia, select Share > Export.

Select "Generate HTML to embed video content on a web page" option to include playback controls for embedding onto a website or blog.

Enter a file name and click Save.

To change back to the default Flash Wrapper for future exports, open Terminal and enter "defaults write com.techsmith.camtasia expressShow -bool NO" and press Return.
