Cut, copy, or paste a selection
To cut or copy, you must first make a selection on the timeline.
Copy a selection:
Make a selection on the timeline.
Select Edit > Copy or press Command-C.
Paste a selection:
Position the playhead where you want to insert the selection.
If you want to insert the selection within a clip, select Edit > Split Selected at Playhead or Split All at Playhead. You may need to move clips on the timeline to make space to paste the clip.
Select Edit > Paste or press Command-V.
