Add an audio or video effect
Audio and video effects include transitions, filters, and actions. To add an effect, click the Audio Effects 
or Video Effects tab 
and drag the desired effect from the pane onto the timeline. A preview of the effect appears as you hover your cursor over the image on the video effect. When you drag the effect onto the timeline, Camtasia adds a yellow border around the locations available for applying the effect.
The following describes each type of effect and where you can drag the effect onto the timeline or canvas:
Transitions
You can add transitions to the beginning or end of a clip, shape, or text.
