MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Macintosh or Power Mac:

-  PowerPC or Higher
-  System 8.5 or Later
-  32 MB of RAM 
-  640 x 480 Resolution, 16 Bit Color Monitor
-  4X CD-ROM Drive
-  10 MB Hard-Disk Space

Windows:

-  Pentium II 200 or Higher Microprocessor

SPECIAL NOTE FOR WINDOWS XP:

The installation will allow the system administrator
to use all features of the Life of Christ CD-ROM.
However, the installation will also allow users with 
limited account access to use the program. If you would 
like limited account users to access all features of the
program, the system administrator must change the accoun
security settings for the limited account users of this 
program. To change the settings, the system administrator
must access the security settings by clicking on Program 
Files and then right-clicking on the Life of Christ folder.
Then select Properties/Security/Users/ and enable the 
"Write" permissions. Then click "apply."

If the "security" tab is not shown on your XP system, 
then do the following:

(1) Click on the "START" menu, and then click 
"Control Panel"
(2) Double click on "Folder options"
(3) On the "VIEW" tab, under "Advanced settings",UNCHECK
the box next to "Use simple file sharing [Recommended]"

If your computer settings do not match those above or for 
more info, see your system administrator.


SPECIAL NOTE FOR MAC OS X:

The installation will allow the system administrator 
to use all features of the Life of Christ CD-ROM. 
However, the installation will also allow users with 
limited account access to use the program. If you would 
like limited account users to access all features of
the program, the system administrator must change the 
ownership & permissions settings for this program. To 
change the settings, the system administrator must access 
the ownership & permissions settings by clicking on the 
Life of Christ folder and selecting File>Get Info 
from the menu.Then select "Read & Write" permissions 
under the "Other" users and click on the 
"Apply to enclosed items" button. See your system 
administrator for more information.


OPTIMAL VIEWING

1)  Set your monitor to 16 bit color (thousands of 
colors).

2)  If you want the program to fill your screen, set 
your monitor to 640x480 pixel resolution.

3) This program also installs QuickTime for viewing 
video segments from The Life of Christ. The program 
requires QuickTime v5.0 or later. If you elect not to 
install QuickTime, verify that your system has an 
appropriate version of Quicktime already installed.


INSTALL PROCEDURES

Apple Macintosh and Power Mac:

1)  Put The Life of Christ CD-ROM into your CD-ROM 
drive.

2)  Double click on The Life of Christ icon on your 
desktop. This will open a window with the contents 
of the CD-ROM.

3)  Double click on The Life of Christ Installer 
file and follow the instructions on your screen. You 
need to have 10 MB of available space on the hard 
disk.

4)  To launch the product, insert The Life of 
Christ CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. Open the 
Discovery Interactive folder on your hard disk. Open 
The Life of Christ folder and double click on The 
Life of Christ icon.

Windows:

1)  Put The Life of Christ CD-ROM into your CD-ROM 
drive.

2)  To Install The Life of Christ, Click on Start and
then select Run. Type D:\SETUP in the entry box. If 
D is not your CD-ROM drive, use the appropriate 
letter. Click OK and follow the instructions on your 
screen. There must be 10 MB of available hard-disk 
space.

3)  To launch the product, insert The Life of Christ 
CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. Click on Start, then 
select Programs, Discovery Interactive and finally 
The Life of Christ.



HOW TO OPEN SAVED NOTES OR TEXT FILES FROM YOUR HARD 
DISK

Apple Macintosh and Power Mac:

1)  Launch your word processor.

2)  Using the Open File capabilities of your word 
processor, open the file you want.

a)  The notes reside in a folder named "NOTES" in 
The Life of Christ folder on your hard disk.

b)  Any file that is saved from The Life of Christ 
program resides in a folder named "SAVEFILE" in The 
Life of Christ folder on your hard disk.

Windows:

1)  Launch your word processor.

2)  Using the Open File capabilities of your word 
processor, open the file you want.

a)  The notes reside in a directory named "NOTES" in 
The Life of Christ directory on the hard disk where 
you have installed Discovery Interactive. Example 
path name: 
"Drive letter":\Program Files\The Life of Christ\
NOTES\"notes #"

b)  Any file that is saved from The Life of Christ 
program resides in a directory named SAVEFILE in The 
Life of Christ directory on the hard disk where you 
have installed Discovery Interactive. Example path 
name: 
"Drive letter":\Program Files\The Life of Christ\
SAVEFILE\"name of file"


TROUBLESHOOTING

Macintosh/Power Mac:

1)  Your configuration must have 32 MB of physical 
RAM.

2)  Macintosh Monitor Settings

To change your system to "Thousands" of colors, go 
to your Monitor settings Control Panel and select 
"Thousands." If "Thousands" is not an option, change 
your monitor resolution to 640x480. If "Thousands" 
still does not appear as an option, your monitor does
not support thousands of colors. Contact your 
hardware vendor for upgrade options.

3) Virtual Memory

Performance problems may be experienced when using 
this program with Virtual Memory turned on. To turn 
off Virtual Memory, locate your Memory Control Panel 
under your Apple menu and click the Virtual Memory 
"Off" radio button. Restart your computer.

4)  Certain video cards may be incompatible with 
Quicktime VR movies. This is a conflict between your 
video card and the QuickTime software. Contact your 
video card manufacturer for the latest drivers.

PC Compatibles:

software and related accompanying this License, 
whether on compact disc, in read only memory, or on 
any other media (the "Software"), are licensed to 
you by Sky Media/Discovery House Publishers.  You 
own the compact disc on which the Software and fonts 
are recorded, but Sky Media/Discovery House 
Publishers, and any licensors thereof, retain title 
to the Software and the related documentation.  This 
License allows you to use the Software and fonts on 
a single computer and make one copy of the Software 
in machine-readable form for backup purposes only.  
You must reproduce on such copy the Sky 
Media/Discovery House Publishers copyright notice 
and any other proprietary legends that were on the 
original copy of the Software.  You may also 
transfer all your license rights in the Software, 
any backup copy of the Software and the related 
documentation and a copy of this License to another 
party, provided the other party reads and agrees to

terminate this License at any time by destroying the 
Software and related documentation and all copies 
thereof.  This License will terminate immediately 
without notice from Sky Media/Discovery House 
Publishers if you fail to comply with any provision 
of this License.  Upon termination you must destroy 
the Software and related documentation and all copies
thereof.

4)  Export Law Assurances.
You agree and certify that neither the Software nor 
any other technical data received from Sky 
Media/Discovery House Publishers, nor the direct 
product thereof, will be exported outside the United 
States except as authorized and as permitted by the 
laws and regulations of the United States.  If the 
Software has been rightfully obtained by you outside 
of the United States, you agree that you will not 
re-export the Software nor any other technical data 
received from Sky Media/Discovery House Publishers, 
nor the direct product thereof, except as permitted 
by the laws and regulations of the United States and 
the laws and regulations of the jurisdiction in which 
you obtained the Software.

5)  Limited Warranty on Software.
Sky Media/Discovery House Publishers warrants the 
compact disc(s) on which the Software is recorded 
will operate on properly configured Macintosh or 
Windows (PC) computers.  Sky Media/Discovery 
House Publishers entire liability, and your exclusive
remedy, if the Software fails to so operate, is the 
replacement of the compact disc(s) which is returned 
to Sky Media/Discovery House Publishers, or an 
authorized representative thereof, with a copy of 
the receipt for the purchase of the disc(s) within a 
period of sixty (60) days after the date of purchase 
as evidenced by the purchase receipt.  
Sky Media/Discovery House Publishers shall have no 
responsibility to replace any disc(s) damaged by 
negligence, accident, misuse, improper or 
unreasonable use or excessive wear.

6)  Disclaimer of Warranty on Software.
You expressly acknowledge and agree that use of the 
Software is at your sole risk.  Except as 
specifically provided in paragraph 6 of this License,
the Software and related documentation are provided 
"AS IS" and without warranty of any kind and Sky 
Media/Discovery House Publishers, all of its 
licensors, and any other third party organizations 
which sell or otherwise distribute the Software, 
hereby EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, 
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, 
THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND 
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.  NO ORAL OR 
WRITTEN INFORMATION OR ADVICE GIVEN BY SKY 
MEDIA/DISCOVERY HOUSE PUBLISHERS, OR ANY AUTHORIZED

In no event shall Sky Media/Discovery House 
Publishers' total liability to you for all damages, 
losses, and causes of action (whether in contract,

amount paid by you for the Software.

8)  Controlling Law and Severability.
This license shall be governed by and construed in 
accordance with the laws of the United States and 
the State of Michigan, as applied to agreements 
entered into and to be performed entirely within 
Michigan between Michigan residents.  If for any 
reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any 
provision of this License, or portion thereof, to be 
unenforceable, that provision of the License shall 
be enforced to the maximum extent permissible so as 
to effect the intent of the parties, and the 
remainder of this License shall continue in full 
force and effect.

9)  Complete Agreement.
This License constitutes the entire agreement 
between the parties with respect to the use of the 
Software and the related documentation.  No 
amendment to or modification of this License will be 
binding unless in writing and signed by a duly 
authorized representative of Sky Media/Discovery 
House Publishers.
