Creating a New Workout
In Workout Mode, you can create advanced workouts that include multiple steps with varied distances, rest laps, and training goals.
The steps of a workout consist of two main elements: a duration and a target. The duration ("Go until") tells you when the step will end. You can create a step that lasts for a certain amount of time, or until you go a specific distance, or until you burn a specific amount of calories. You can also create a step that lasts until you press the lap button on your device.
The target ("Maintain") is your goal for the step. Your target can be to keep your speed or your heart rate in a specific zone for the duration of the step, or you can create a step that does not have a specific goal.
Your workout can also contain steps with repetition. See Creating Steps with Repetition for more information.
Add Step icon to create the next step in the workout. You can also add steps with repetition. See Creating Steps with Repetition for more information.NOTE: When building a workout, it is important to create transition steps that allow you to build up speed, reduce your heart rate, and so forth. For example, if you are transitioning from a walking step to a running step, you can create a short step (ten seconds or so) with no specific target speed, which gives you some time to speed up. If you are transitioning from a step with a fast heart rate to a step with a slower heart rate, you can create a rest step that gives your heart rate time to slow down.
