This game requires a modern 3D video card that supports OpenGL®. If you have a very old or non-compatible video card, try upgrading your card. You can also try to re-run DisplayConfig, which is located in the game's folder, and try running in a different resolution. The DisplayConfig program is shown on the screenshot to the right.
Please note that if this game runs very slow, it's most likely that you need a better video card or you need to install or update your OpenGL® drivers. If you can't get a new video card, try running in 640x480 or a smaller resolution, this might speed up the game.
Also make sure that your version of Windows® and all your hardware drivers are completely up-to-date. Very old video cards or old versions of DirectX® and Windows® may cause problems that can not be fixed unless you update your system.
Check your desktop for a quick launch icon. Also hit the 'Start' button and look in 'All Programs' for the game's icon group. If you didn't change the default folder, you can look for the game on your hard drive in c:\Program Files\Webfoot\
If you didn't install the game to the default folder or just can't find it and you're running on Windows, use the search tool. Open up My Computer and hit ctrl+'F'. Select 'Files & Folders'. Next, type the name of the game (all in one word, so Alien Invasion would be 'AlienInvasion') and click on the 'Search' button. The game should pop up then.
Make sure your speakers are plugged in, powered, turned on with the volume up. Can you hear sound from other games?
This game is Microsoft DirectX® compatible and should
work with most modern sound cards. If you are experiencing problems,
please email us with the make and model number of your sound card and we'll see what we can do to help. Email these details to
techsupportpenguin at webfootgames.com and make sure to include the product title, version of Windows that you are running, and a detailed
description of the problem. Please also include model numbers of your sound card. Before you email, please read How to send us a support question.
Try updating to the latest version of your video driver. Make sure your version of Microsoft Windows® has all the latest service packs and updates installed. In most cases, these kinds of problems are due to video card drivers or old versions of Windows. Please understand there isn't much we can do to help if your system is very old or out-dated. These games are built for modern versions of Windows and modern OpenGL® compatible video cards.
Run the DisplayConfig program and try a different video mode. The game is best for 1024x768x32 resolution, but your video card might not work well with this resolution, so try another.
Run the DisplayConfig program and try a different video mode. This will most likely 'fix' this problem, since you will find a video resolution that your LCD monitor is not trying to rotate.
Some LCD monitors allow for the screen to rotate, so check your monitor's instruction manual and settings. Each monitor is different, so if this happens to you, please keep in mind there's not much we can do to help other than tell you to read your monitor's manual.
We do garantee that the game runs fine on all our monitors here at Webfoot, or we never would have released this game.
Run the DisplayConfig program and try a different video mode. The game is optimized for 1024x768x32 resolution, but your video card might not work well with this resolution, so try another.
Run the DisplayConfig program and try a different video mode. The game is best for 1024x768x32 resolution, but your video card might not work well with this resolution, so try another.
Run the DisplayConfig program and try a different video mode. You can also try adjusting your monitor settings (the horizontal and vertical position). What is happening is that the game is running in a video mode that your monitor was never adjusted for. So run the game in the same resolution as your desktop, or adjust your monitor settings.
With all the infinite number of hardware configurations on PCs, it's possible your particular configuration just won't work with this game. We recommend you try our free trial versions of our games on your system to ensure the software will work before you purchase it. If you have more than one computer, try it on another computer, it will probably work just fine as it's extremely rare that a game won't run on some hardware (we realize this doesn't make you feel any better, but if you email us your hardware model numbers, we'll see if we can figure out what's going on as we want our products to work on as many systems as possible).
Run the DisplayConfig program that is in the game's program group (from the Start button go to 'All Programs' and select the DisplayConfig icon inside the game's group). The first drop-down list option allows you to change the language.
Run the Uninstall that is located in the game's program group. From the Start button go to 'All Programs' and select the Uninstall icon inside the game's group. If for some reason the program group is missing, you can always just delete the game folder on your hard drive. We don't install and copy big files all over your hard drive, we only put files in the game folder and in 'Documents and Settings->Your Name->Application Data->Webfoot->Game Name' for the configuration files. That's it. Delete those 2 folders and our software is off your system.
There are several ways to exit the game. Press a key to bring up the menu and use the arrow keys to select 'Quit' and hit the 'Enter' key. For a fast exit, hit Alt-F4 keys simultaneously.

HINT: Hit the 'Start' button on the lower left of your desktop, then right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties'. There you will find some information about your computer system and hardware models. We need all this information to properly look-up which version of the game you have. Without this information, we may not be able to solve your request. Thank you kindly for your support and feedback.
